Few buildings in Miami are even on fiber. Oh they sell you whatever claim you’ll buy. In our survey, 88% of AT&T customers said their internet speeds “always” or “usually” met their household’s needs. They also experience better than average reliability, with 62% of customers “never” or “rarely” experiencing outages. AT&T was charging me $60 for 18 mbps down and 1 mbps up, and they have a stipulation for charging $5 for every 50 GB over 250 GB used per month, though that was never enforced upon me. Xfinity isn't as bad as AT&T in pricing for what you get, but they try hard to hide the upstream, and back when I used them, they had a 1 TB softcap per month ...Xfinity's cable box interface is nicer, but it was more expensive than Fios for me. Dial-up -> DSL -> Cable -> Fiber (FIOS) Cable is always going to be worse than Fiber as far as Internet, and DSL worse than cable, and dial-up worse than DSL. I just joined T-Mobile's Home Internet and I am trying to decide which service I will use going forward. With T-Mo, I will pay $30/month and I get 250/60 down/up throughout my house, and it's been 100% reliable and consistent. With Comcast, I get 200-500/20 across my house and I pay $110/month. AT&T (DSL and Fiber), Charter, Time Warner, Spectrum, Comcast, Verizon FIOS, Earthlink, and Google Fiber across 4 states. Some times in owned homes. Some times in apartments or assisted living setups.But we're getting (on average) 2-3x the speed down and 2x the speed up for about one third of what we were paying Xfinity (for broadband alone, no channels, no phones, nothing).
